Cantabrian Chamois
Rupicapra pyrenaica parva
Smaller in body and trophy than the Pyrenean, but with the same essence of mountain hunting.
The Cantabrian chamois (Rupicapra pyrenaica parva) lives in the remote Cantabrian range, north of Madrid, where we manage five thousand hectares. Smaller in body and trophy than its Pyrenean relative, it keeps intact the essence of the high-mountain stalk: astonishing agility, demanding terrain and the landscapes of green northern Spain.

Questions about this hunt
When is the Cantabrian chamois hunted?
In two windows: October-December and April-June, flying into Madrid. We arrange transfers up to the Cantabrian mountains.
How does it differ from the Pyrenean chamois?
It is Spain's other subspecies, in a green Atlantic landscape quite unlike the Pyrenees. Together they make up Spain's chamois double.
Do I need prior mountain experience?
Not essential: we tailor every day to your level and the guide sets a pace around you. Being candid about your fitness helps us design the best plan.
We design your hunt bespoke. Your outfitter details the proposal privately.
